HOLTOP’s air conditioning systems are officially up and running at International Cargo Terminal 4 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, serving the FedEx South China Operations Center. By providing practical HVAC solutions and reliable equipment, we are helping support this major aviation hub and regional cross-border logistics.
Project Background International Cargo Terminal 4 is a major step in establishing Baiyun Airport as a global cargo hub. Built through a partnership between the Guangdong Airport Authority Logistics Company and FedEx, the facility is a key investment for FedEx in China. The center handles sorting, warehousing, customs clearance, and intermodal transport for international express shipments, strengthening supply chain ties between South China, the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.
The HVAC Challenge A modern, 24/7 cargo hub has strict climate control needs that go beyond standard commercial buildings:
-
Space is at a Premium: Core areas like sorting and warehousing need maximum floor space, leaving little to no room for bulky indoor HVAC equipment.
-
Around-the-Clock Operations: The facility runs 24/7 under heavy loads. The equipment needs to be incredibly durable and capable of handling constant wear and tear.
-
Tight Deadlines: The fast-paced construction schedule required a supplier who could deliver equipment quickly, provide technical expertise, and handle a large-scale installation without delaying the project.
The HOLTOP Solution To meet these demands, HOLTOP provided an HVAC solution built around our Rooftop Packaged Air Conditioning Units. We delivered and installed 17 units to handle the environmental control for the sorting floors, warehouses, and office spaces, matching the exact needs of the facility.
Key Benefits of the Installed Systems
-
Space-Saving and Easy to Install Our rooftop packaged units combine cooling, heating, and air handling into a single exterior footprint. Because they sit on the roof, they don’t require a dedicated indoor mechanical room, freeing up valuable floor space for cargo operations. They are essentially plug-and-play—once placed on the roof, they only need ductwork and basic wiring. This cuts down installation time and upfront costs compared to complex traditional systems.
-
Reliable and Built for Continuous Use Designed for the tough demands of a logistics hub, these units are built to run continuously. They feature weather-resistant components, high-strength insulated frames, double-skin foam panels, and rain/snow protection. This keeps the equipment running smoothly regardless of the outdoor weather, preventing downtime in the facility.
-
Consistent Comfort and Fast Adjustment Maintaining a comfortable workspace is critical for staff productivity. The units offer strong air distribution to prevent hot and cold spots across the massive warehouse floors. High-efficiency scroll compressors allow the system to respond quickly to temperature shifts, while a built-in dual filtration system keeps the indoor air clean and safe for the workers inside.
-
Smart, Efficient Controls The units come with a smart control system that adjusts operation based on real-time indoor conditions. Facility managers get an easy-to-use interface for temperature control, status monitoring, and fault alarms. By using tailored operating schedules for different zones, the system optimizes energy use and supports the facility’s overall sustainability goals.

- Looking Ahead Getting the Baiyun Airport cargo hub online is a great example of HOLTOP’s ability to handle large-scale, demanding logistics projects. With solid technology, fast delivery, and full-service support, we met the project’s high expectations. Moving forward, HOLTOP will continue to refine our products to provide practical, reliable HVAC solutions for major transit hubs, logistics centers, and commercial buildings worldwide.
